Preach the Word of God, Not the Mind of the People
A Call to Pastors and Believers Alike
By Bishop Obi K Stanley
VOICE OF SOLUTION
Pastor, preach the Word of God and not the mind of the people. Preach God’s Word and do His will. Always remember the Judgment Day of God. That day should be the very reason you fear and reverence God.
Preach His Word, do His will, and allow Him to do His work by using you. Believers should listen to the Word of God, not the mind of a pastor.
John 3:34 — “For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.”
Some people say giving offerings and bringing tithes is no longer necessary. You began preaching what they wanted to hear, forgetting what God Himself said about tithes and offerings in His Word.
Exodus 23:15 — “…None shall appear before me empty.”
Deuteronomy 16:16 — “…They shall not appear before the LORD empty.”
Psalms 96:8-9 — “Bring an offering… worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness…”
Malachi 3:8-10 — “Will a man rob God?… In tithes and offerings… Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse… and I will pour you out a blessing.”
The same people who say tithes and offerings are wrong are the same ones who will turn around and accuse you of blocking them from giving, saying you want God’s blessing all to yourself. They say you’re hoarding the opportunity for others to be blessed.
They say you’re trying to build your own church and not God’s. They say, “You can do without our tithes and offerings.” Pastor, whatever you do or say, people will always have something to say.
That’s why you must preach to please God—the One who called you—not to please people who treat you like a slave.
Don’t be afraid of what people will say. Be afraid of the Judgment Day of God. Serve God with fear and reverence.
There would be no New Testament without the Old. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He never changes. He changes things as He wills, but He Himself remains the same.
So ask yourself—what are you teaching the next generation?
What are you handing down to the unborn?
Remember, there is God… and there is a Judgment Day.
This is not your church or your ministry. You cannot boast of building God’s church with your own resources as if it is your personal property.
Capital NO.
This is the Church of God. This is God’s Ministry. Allow God to build His church and run His ministry through His people, the ones who are available and willing.
I remember decades ago when we fetched water, sand, and stones while building the Church of God with joy. The zeal for His house burned in us like fire.
The pastor simply led us along God’s presence and direction, ensuring the house of God was built right. No one was forced. We gave willingly because we felt the presence of God, and we understood our God-given obligation.
There is no need to force anyone to give 5%, 10%, 50%, or 100%.
Tithing is returning to God what is already His.
Tithe is 10%. Offerings are given with a cheerful heart.
Believers should act on their covenant with God and seek His face—not wait for force.
Jeremiah 3:15 — “And I will give you pastors according to my heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.”
Be a pastor on top—a vessel of glory, not a symbol of compromise or confusion.
Nothing is by force in the house of God.
The commands, instructions, and will of God are already written in His Word.
Do not force people to give.
It is not by force.
It is an obligation that true believers understand.
You shouldn’t be told to do what God has clearly asked you to do.
There is a Judgment Day of God. Pastor, teach the Word of God to please the One who called you—not to please people whose minds have been corrupted.
Do not preach the minds of men. Preach the Word of God.
Today, many pastors no longer preach the Word. Instead of allowing God to make a name for Himself through His Word, they preach to satisfy the thoughts of people.
Don’t say people’s tithes and offerings are not useful to the house of God. Don’t say, “I can build without their giving.”
Is it your church?
Or is it the Church of God?
If it’s God’s Church, then let God use His people to build His house.
Remember Zechariah 6:15.
You’re not the owner of that ministry. You are a servant. Allow the Owner—God—to do His will.
God will surely swallow in wrath and victory all who oppose His church.
Are you a content creator?
Then let your content carry the Word of God.
Every word of God is pure.
Preach the Word of God—not people’s suggestions.
Preach the Word of God—not the fear of men.
Preach the Word of God—not the will of men.
Preach the Word of God. Nothing but His Word.
