Who Really Owns the Church?

Understanding God’s Design for Ministry and Worship

You don’t own a church nor start a church. It is the Church of God. God owns it. Believers of Christ Jesus are the Church of God. The Church of God is already built by God. Christ Jesus is the Head of the Church because He is the Lord and Saviour of the living souls.

One of the branches of the Church of God is called ministry. The five-fold ministry each functions as a branch of the Church of God:

  • An Apostle operates in the apostolic ministry or office.

  • A Pastor operates in the pastoral ministry or office.

  • A Prophet operates in the prophetic ministry or office.

  • An Evangelist operates in the evangelistic ministry or office.

  • A Teacher operates in the educative ministry or office.

Other ministries outside the five-fold ministry operate in vocations, destinies, gifts, and talents, and as it pleases God.

God is giving members to each ministry according to His calling, plan, and purpose. Both the minister, the ministry, and the members are the Church of God. The people of God gathered are the Church of God.

The Church of God in a country is the people of God who gather in different denominations, worshipping God with a different understanding of God. As you fellowship with brethren, always use the fear of God to maintain God’s relationship with you at all times!

There are many Churches of God all over the world with different denominations, but one Christ Jesus, the Head of the Church.

The Word of God is in chapters and verses. Every chapter speaks in different verses or references with a diverse understanding of God. As the Word of God is written in chapters and verses, so also the Church of God is all over the world in denominations or congregations.

No one can have anything unless it is given to him from above.

The same God who wrote His Word in chapters and verses gave His people a diverse understanding of those chapters and verses. This is why there are denominations in the body of the interdenominational Jesus Christ.

In the Church of God, everything is done in the name of Jesus Christ, but with different understanding, translation, interpretation, and pattern—to the glory of God.

One body of Christ. God is one, but reveals Himself in many ways.

The Spirit of God, which is the Holy Spirit, dwells in us in Jesus Christ’s name. We are the temple. What we do by God’s grace is the ministry, work, and other branches of God’s will in Jesus Christ’s name.

You can be a founder of a ministry, ministries, or good things.
God is the founder of the Church.
God formed the Church. God is a Church founder!

Any ministry you found or form in God’s name, and you begin doing the work of God—remember, there is a Judgment Day of God, so do the work to the glory of God.

Any ministry that God used you to find or form, and God is using you to touch lives and save souls for His glory—there is Judgment Day of God, so do as God says. Always remember that you are a servant of God.

Whatever you are doing, or planning to do, there is Judgment Day. Repentance now is a must, for the mercy of God to work in your life.

The worship of God starts from the inside of you, down to any place God approved for His children to gather for His worship.

No one can have anything unless it is given to him from above.

Building structures is important for the people of God to fellowship as a family of God. The building is mostly called the Church of God because the people of God, who are the Church of God, are inside the building worshipping God.

The people of God collectively build the structure because God is in their midst. It is the House of God, because God is present where two or more are gathered in His name.

Building is very important when it comes to worshipping God as a family. The building gives shelter against rainfall, scorching sun, and many other things. The building helps. We need it. It is for the glory of God.

God owns the Church and does everything that pleases Him through His chosen vessels—for His glory.

God is Spirit, and we worship Him in spirit and truth.

Jesus Christ in us is the hope of glory.
The Holy Spirit, as Jesus Christ promised us, is our Helper who helps believers to worship God for who God is.

The gathering of brethren in a chapel, tabernacle, or building to fellowship together in worship of God—by the help of the Holy Spirit—is our God-given understanding here, as God has approved.

No one disapproves what God approves. No one approves what God disapproves.

Your heart must have Christ Jesus before you can see God.
